  • 2005

    Participation in the Novo Mercado of BM&Bovespa, adopting best practices for corporate governance.

  • 2007

    Participation in the Global Compact and United Nations Millennium Goals.

    Corporate compliance with the guidelines established by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in its annual statement of accounts.

    Participation begun in the group of companies in the Corporate Sustainability Index portfolio of the BM&FBovespa (ISE Bovespa).

  • 2008

    Signing the Rio Sustentável Protocol that made Rio de Janeiro the first Brazilian city to have a carbon emissions reduction target.

    Release of the first Sustainability Report with 2007 as baseline year, including inventory of greenhouse gases (GHGs).

  • 2009

    Participation in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

    Introduction of the Materiality Matrix in the Sustainability Report.

  • 2010

    Participation of the company's suppliers in the CDP questionnaire to map carbon emissions across the value chain.

    Expert panel: Debate about the issues identified in the Light Materiality Matrix between Light representatives and experts.

  • 2011

    Release of Sustainability Report, also in an online version with a printed publication in magazine format.

  • 2012

    Signed new commitment letter with the Global Compact.

  • 2013

    Participation in the Working Group for Pioneer Companies in Sustainability Reporting. This group is part of the Brazilian Integrated Report Committee.

  • 2014

    For the first time it integrates the ranking of the most sustainable companies in Brazil, in the Exame Sustainability Guide.

    We reaffirmed our commitment to the UN Global Compact. We formally adhered to the Call to Action: Anti-Corruption and the Global Development Agenda, signing the commitment letter, and accompanying initiatives related to the definition of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

    Recognized by CDP Latin America for the result achieved in the Featured category in the 2014 Edition of the Climate Change questionnaire.

    The company ranked second in the ranking of 16th Abrasca Award for Best Annual Report, with an honorable mention in the Social and Environmental Aspects category.

    Winner of the "Best Companies for their Shareholders 2014," award presented by Capital Aberto magazine, in first place in the category for businesses with a market value between BRL 2 billion and BRL 5 billion.

    Adhesion to the Integrated Reporting model, addressing the Company's capitals in the Sustainability Report.

    For the second consecutive year, listed in the ranking of the Exame Sustainability Guide as one of the most sustainable companies in Brazil.

    Featured for the second consecutive year in the 17th edition of the Abrasca (Brazilian Association of Listed Companies) Award, earning an honorable mention in the Strategy and Investment category.

    Light completes its 9th consecutive year in the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) portfolio of BM&FBovespa.

    Considered the 38th most innovative company in Brazil by Jornal Valor Econômico. In the power sector, it held 2nd place.

  • 2016

    For the third consecutive year, listed in Guia Exame de Sustentabilidade, as one of the most sustainable companies in Brazil.

    Finalist, for the third consecutive year, in the 18th edition of the Abrasca Award - Brazilian Association of Public Companies.

    The Company completes 10 consecutive years in the portfolio of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) of BM & FBovespa.
